Dean Steyn, Grade 12 Art learner of Pro Arte Alphen Park High School, won first place in MK TV’s national Bruce Lee Stabilo Art Competition. With that he received the cash prize of R5 000,00. The competition was open to every body including professional artists and university students. His achievement as a scholar is excellent.

Participants of the competition had to make an illustration of a band member. He made a sketch of Andrew Justin Davenport of Thieve. The competition ran from 4 January to 26 January.

The school’s Art Department is well-known for its great achievements and boasts an average of 89% for Design in the 2009 matric results. Design is presented by Mrs Isabella Mellet, Head of the Art Department.
