A need for Blood Donors
Summer is a historically slow time for blood donations due to huge volumes of travel and school holidays, while the need for blood donors remains constant. Our local hospitals are in need of all blood types. So we urge each and every one of you to come forward, take 30 minutes of your time and donate your blood. Every drop is valuable.
About one in seven people entering a hospital these days needs blood. One pint of blood can save up to three lives! Healthy adults who are at least and older may donate about a pint of blood (this is the most common form of donation) and you can do this every 56 days, or every two months.
Blood donation is vitally important because maintaining an adequate blood supply in our community secures blood transfusions for patients who need it most. It also gives the donors a medical check-up at no additional cost. Join us in strengthening our community.
