PRO ARTE ALPHEN PARK KINDERS NEEM DEEL AAN GESKIEDKUNDIGE AFSLUITING VAN SOKKER WêRELDBEKER

Oom olifant, jou reuse dier...

PRO ARTE ALPHEN PARK LEARNERS PARTICIPATE IN HISTORY MAKING WORLD CUP CLOSING CEREMONY

Twenty five of Pro Arte Alphen Park’s Drama and Dance learners controlled the spectacular elephant puppets during the 2010 Soccer World Cup closing ceremony. They sacrificed long hours during their winter holiday to practice at Nasrec, but enjoyed it tremendously. According to the organisers the children were dedicated, talented and exemplary.

Pro Arte Alphen Park is also proud of old art learner, Mia van Zyl, who coordinated the opening and closing ceremonies. Well-known artist and the creative director, Roger Titley, who designed the gigantic puppets, says that he has used Mia previously for coordinating and digitizing his giant animal puppets for the Klangwolke festival in the well-known Austrian town of Linz.

"She was a fantastic asset in Linz as she is happiest when multi-tasking seven things at the same time, and this is what the job requires! I used Mia mostly as coordinator on both the opening and closing ceremonies - she did brilliantly. With her excellent education at Pro Arte Alphen Park and her creative skills I am going to use her for other big international projects. Nothing scares her!"
